Before You Begin
Before performing any maintenance, shut off the engine. If the engine needs to be run for any reason, make sure it’s located in a well ventilated area to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
Checking and Changing the Oil
The GX120, GX160 and GX200 (and their respective clone engines) hold 600Mls of 10W/30 API SG engine oil. If you are unsure of the model or size of your engine feel free to email us a photo and we should be able to help you identify what engine it is.
To change the engine oil:
1. Position a drain pan beneath the oil drain plug, located at the base of the engine.
2. Remove the oil filler cap followed by the oil drain plug.
3. Once all the oil has drained out of the motor, replace the drain plug. Add oil through the oil filler cap opening.
4. Put the oil filler cap back in the engine.
